The Chess State – Bauhaus Chessmen are a faithful reproduction to the original design by Bauhaus sculptor Josef Hartwig. The design transforms pieces into geometric symbols based on their functions. The thought behind this design was that the shapes and symbols of cubes, cylinders and balls should lead you move by move to checkmate.
