THE CHESS STATE- 1972 Fischer Championship Spassky Series Chessmen. The Chessmen feature a 3.7″ King with a 1.7″ Diameter base and are heavily weighted.The design of the Fischer Spassky Series Chess Set is an exact reproduction of the Chess set used by the legendary American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer when he won the 1972 World Chess Championship against the reigning World Champion Grandmaster Boris Spassky in Reykjavik, Iceland.
All the pieces are hand carved and it takes our expert carver upto 2 weeks to finish a full set and sometimes even more so we maintain a regular stock of all our items. All the pieces are weighted with individual metal studs inserted at the bottom to make them ideal for good balance and speed play. The beautiful Staunton chess set pieces with the meticulously handcrafted knights are carved with perfection and expert precision. It has been designed to withstand the rigours of practical play while maintaining an elegance.
