THE CHESS STATE- 1950s Dubrovnik Bobby Fischer Luxury Series Chessmen. The Chessmen feature a 3.7″King with a 1.5″ Diameter base and are heavily weighted. The original Dubrovnik Set was made in the fifties in the renowned master carver Jakopović’s workshop. These are the pieces that Bobby Fischer proclaimed his favourite, this is the chess set that we can see him analyze with in various documentaries and photographs. The beautiful chess set pieces are carved with perfection and expert precision
All the pieces are hand carved and it takes our expert carver upto 2 weeks to finish a full set and sometimes even more so we maintain a regular stock of all our items. All the pieces are weighted with individual metal studs inserted at the bottom to make them ideal for good balance and speed play. The beautiful Staunton chess set pieces with the meticulously handcrafted knights are carved with perfection and expert precision. It has been designed to withstand the rigours of practical play while maintaining an elegance.
